ATTACHMENTS:
Weapons attachments return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with a few changes. Firstly, new attachments were introduced, such as the Thermal Scope and Heartbeat Sensor. Secondly, some weapon attachments are now unlocked through the use of other attachments, such as getting 20 kills looking through the ACOG Scope to unlock the Thermal Scope or 60 kills looking down the RDS to unlock the Holographic Sight. Lastly, the Grip and Grenade Launcher no longer count as a tier one perk. Enemies throughout the campaign will now carry weapons customized with a variety of attachments. When a player goes to pick up a weapon, it will actually tell them what attachments the gun has, except when the gun is using Bling or does not have any attachments.
Modern Warfare 2 will award players based on their performance in multiplayer games. After the action report, everyone’s accolades will be displayed on screen.

Now that you have identified the boosters, it's your job to find their hiding spots. If you used spectator mode to locate them, your job is easy, but if you don't notice until they start racking up the kills it can be rather difficult to find them in time.
Each map has a number of common locations that boosters typically like to frequent. Click each map for a larger view:
*What isn't shown on this map are the scaffolding on either side of the level, the crane, as well as the rooftop, all areas that can be used for boosting. If a pair of guys manage to both get to the roof you are going to have a hell of a time getting them down, but making your way to the top of the crane can give you a clear view of them.
4. Killing the Boosters
Now that you found them, it's time to kill them. Take note of which one of the boosters is doing the killing because he is the one you need to kill. If they have a chopper gunner or AC130 out you can be sure that he will be hiding somewhere, but won't be able to defend himself. You can be sure that his partner will be standing guard.
The guy you are after will just be standing there waiting for his partner to spawn, so he is the easier target and you can just run in and knife or shoot him. But you want multi-kills timing becomes more important. What I like to do is wait a second or 2 after the re-spawn to give them just enough time to put out a new tactical insertion, but not enough time to be killed again. If you time it right and launch a grenade you can get the double kill plus destroy the TI.
If the TI is not destroyed you have 2 options. If you are trying to unlock Sitrep pro, this would be a good opportunity to tally up more equipment destruction. Or you can just wait for the re-spawn and kill him again. Either method accomplishes the same thing. Waiting for the re-spawn and knifing them is probably more fun and tends to piss them off more and is my preferred method especially after unlocking Sitrep Pro.
Sometimes the boosters are actually a little bit intelligent and will not stand close enough together to kill them both with a single grenade. You will find them standing in opposite corners of a room and shooting instead of knifing each other. Knowing their exact location is key and Sitrep can really help if you don't have a clean site-line. A couple of well placed grenades from a safe distance usually takes care of them.
The 2nd level of the house in Underpass is a common place that I have seen this strategy used. One guy will sit in the corner directly behind the stairs, the other will be diagonally across. A grenade through the window from ground level can usually get one of them, then run upstairs and quickly shoot the other. You could also access this room from the "shelf". The gas station on Rundown is another spot where the boosters will most likely be separated by some distance.
Once you manage to kill them both, they often return to the same spot, but there is a good chance that they will either leave the game or move to another location. Keep hunting them down. A smart pair of boosters will swap roles and start all over again if you screwed up their big killstreak.
5. Final Tips
Use your mic. If you can't get to a booster in time or keep getting killed on your way to them, call them out. Someone else may be much closer and be willing to lend a helping hand in order to stop the boosters. Nobody likes to be nuked.
Find a booster hunting partner and pair up. Get into a party chat with a friend and go hunting together. It's always good to have a partner and one less person on the map trying to kill you.
The boosters will most likely give up after you kill them a few rounds in a row. If you really want to be a pain in the ass, follow them! Go to your recent friends list and wait for them to get into another match that you can join.
PART 1
Lately it seems like just about every FFA match I get into has a bunch of Nuke boosters. Anyone who has read my posts knows by know how much I love going after them, so I thought it was time to make a guide.
1. Identifiying Boosters
The first step in stopping boosters is to realize that you are in a game with them, and there are a number of ways to do this. Some quick things to look for in the lobby are nuke emblems, EMP emblem, matching and/or similar clan tags, and matching and/or similar gamertags. If you are playing FFA and 3 people with the same clan tag join, all have nuke emblems and appear to be in a party chat, there is a high likelihood that they will attempt to boost.
If the match has not started, go into spectator mode
1. wait for the match to begin
2. press B (X360) instead of choosing a class
3. cycle through the players using the A and B buttons until you see someone with a tactical insertion equipped
4. Follow anyone with a TI until you see them run to far corner of the map and drop it
5. Now check for a partner heading for the same location (the 2nd booster may or may not have a TI equipped)
6. If you have time you should also try to identify any additional players that may be standing guard for the boosters.
7. Make a note of the boosters gamertag and Clan Tags if they are using them. Note: clan tags are not visible from your friends list, so make sure you remember the boosters gamer tag if you plan on following them to a new match.
8. Do not spend too much time in spectator mode or you will be kicked from the game for inactivity. It takes approximately 1 minute and 20 seconds before you get kicked.
In some cases you will find snipers or people using TI's for legitimate reasons, but most of the time you will pinpoint the exact location of your boosters. The other day I saw a guy set a TI down behind the power station on Estate and just started running laps. Nobody else showed up and he just kept running in circles. I think he was trying to unlock marathon or lightweight pro.
If you suspect boosters during a match
* check for the scoreboard for someone with lots of deaths and very few kills
* watch the kill feed for the same person being killed over and over again
* if someone gets an EMP without a care package you probably have boosters and have very little time to find them
* use your ears and listen for tactical insertion spawns. Once you get attuned to the sound you can't miss it and can use it as a homing device.
Intentionally getting into a game with boosters
If you are in the mood to hunt boosters, they can usually be found with a little bit of patience. You first need to get into a match or lobby. Use the identifying traits from the section above and make a decision to wait for the game to begin and go into spectator mode, or leave and move onto the next lobby.
If you get thrown into the middle of a game, always go into spectator mode and do a quick scan. A quick peek at the score is always the best way to determine if you have boosters. At this point you can leave the game and take a loss, or wait to be kicked for inactivity. I do not know for sure, but I don't believe that being kicked will result in a loss.
Repeat this process and few times and you are bound to find boosters. It normally takes me 5 games or less, but can vary from day to day. You may find that you get thrown into a game when the boosters already have 20+ kills. This can happen because other players tend to leave the game when one person is dominating. Don't be discouraged if you get nuked in one of these games. Just stick with them and don't let it happen again.
2. Class Setup
I recently changed my classes around a little and have a few variations depending on the map. I used to always use an SMG with marathon and lightweight to help get around the map quickly. The trouble with this setup is with air support. Once there is a chopper gunner in the air you will have a hard time getting to the boosters, especially if they know you are after them.
Marathon is critical for getting around the map quicker. I find that the speed boost you get from using an SMG is not worth giving up the grenade launcher on the AR's. You can substitute Light Weight for Danger Close if you want a little extra speed in place of explosive power.
Sitrep make spotting the tactical insertions much easier. They can be seen through walls, buildings, etc... On smaller maps you can sometimes locate the boosters just by scanning for TI's using Sitrep.
Explosive class
Primary: Tar-21 or AK-47 w/ Grenade Launcher
Secondary: RPG, Thumper, or Javelin
Equipment: Semtex or C4
Perk 1: Marathon
Perk 2: Danger Close
Perk 3: Siterep
The explosive class is great for early on in the game before the heavy air support rolls in. Hitting anywhere near the boosters with a noob tube or RPG and danger close is sure to be a multi-kill and you have a good chance of taking out their insertions too. The same can be said about a well placed semtex. C4 is also nice if you can get in close to the boosters location. It makes almost no sound when thrown, but has a very limited range. If they keep coming back to the same location you can leave them a little C4 gift and watch from a safe distance.
The Thumper is just another way of carrying 2 extra launchable grenades. Just remember to make sure you are far enough away to give the grenade time to arm, or else it won't explode and you will be stuck trying to reload. Once you unlock the RPG I think it should be used in place of the thumper. You can fire the RPG from as close as you want without worrying about firing a dud round. It's very easy to kill yourself with the RPG at close range, but it's a lot of fun. It's also a good long range explosive weapon, but can randomly veer off target when firing from a distance, so be ready to follow up with another RPG or grenade. The Javelin is also a very effective launcher, but you only get 1 shot and it takes a long time to lock onto targets. The advantage of the Javelin is that it will launch straight into the air and come down directly on top of your target. This can work very well when the boosters are hiding behind cover and cannot be shot directly. There are a few locations on Afghan, Sub Base and Karachi where I have used the Javelin to get a well protected booster.
The Tar-21 is one of my favorite assault rifles in the game because it has a good amount of ammo, high rate of fire, and enough power to work well without stopping power. It's also available very early in the rankings, but an AK-47 works just as well for those level 70's.
Anti Air
Primary: Tar-21 or AK-47 w/ Grenade Launcher
Secondary: Stinger
Equipment: Semtex or C4
Perk 1: Marathon
Perk 2: Cold Blooded Pro
Perk 3: Sitrep
It's pretty obvious when you are going to need this setup. My advice is to take down air support as soon as possible to delay the higher killstreaks. A chopper gunner can be taken down before it does any serious damage. If you are using the explosive class and a chopper gunner is called in, simply throw a semtex at your feet and re-spawn with your anti air class.
Cold blooded pro is a great perk for hiding from boosters. On levels like Underpass, Rundown, Afghan and even parts of Favela, you can lay prone in the grass near a suspected boosting spot and they can walk right by you. If you really want to remain unseen, try laying prone and rapidly pressing the "switch weapons" button over and over again. You may look stupid on your own screen, but it makes it very hard to distinguish you from dead bodies because you won't appear to be holding a weapon.
The other major advantage to using cold blooded pro is you can actually trick the boosters into thinking you are their boosting partner since your name doesn't appear over your head. This works well when the boosters themselves are using Cold Blooded Pro.
For those who have not yet unlocked Sitrep, or just don't want to dedicate a class slot to booster hunting, the "Overwatch" default class is a good start. It does not have Marathon equipped, but uses Sitrep and danger close w/ Semtex. This class uses the L86 LMG with a red dot and grip, a great gun for taking out multiple boosters at once without having to worry about reloading.
PART 2
This guide will help XPlain what each deathstreak is for, and how to best use them in a multiplayer match in Modern Warfare 2.
Copycat
3 deaths
Steal your killer's class in killcam.
Copycat is a perk which is unlocked at level 4, Private First Class. This perk allows players to copy the enemy's class, this is useful for newer players i would say ranking between 1-15 as they won't have any attachments, higher level guns and equipment. To deploy copycat you will need to press Y (On Xbox) when watching the Killcam and then when you spawn you will have your "Killers" class. If you kill the enemy, who's class you copied you will receive a title and emblem.
Strategy:
Copy-cat is the first of all the deathstreaks you unlock, it allows you to steal the enemies class which has just killed you, it's most beneficial to new players as it gives them a chance to try out weapon they will unlock at the higher levels. It works well on small maps when you are getting spawned camped so you can try out a new class and get out of this sticky situation
Painkiller
4 deaths
Big health boost when you spawn.
Painkiller is a death streak unlocked at level 6, it gives you a health boost for 10 seconds after you respawn, you will have to die 3 times in a row to receive this deathstreak. This deathstreak has replace "Juggernaut" from Call of Duty 4, in effect it's the same however it only last's 10 seconds. How can tell if a players is using "Painkiller" as when you shoot them a small pill will appear just below your cross-hairs so you know more bullets will be needed to take down this target. Painkiller makes most weapons less powerful and it will require more rounds to kill the target, however this doesn't affect Shotguns as it's still 1 shot kill.
Strategy:
Painkiller is the most annoying of all the 4 deathstreaks it will give the player a 10 second health boost when they spawn, this is most annoying when you are sniping as it will take around 3 or so bullets to take them down. This is most useful on small maps such as: Rust,Scrapyard and Quarry this is because some spawns will over-lap each other making 10 second health boost a must.
Martyrdom
4 deaths
Drop a live grenade just after dying.
Martyrdom is a death perk unlocked at level 27, this perk is unlocked after dying 4 times in a row. The players once killed will drop a live Frag grenade. This deathstreak is useful in Headquarters or in Domination where several players will all be in one location. Most players will once they here the "clunk" of the grenade hitting the floor however it is possible to throw it and in some cases get multiple kills.
Strategy:
This deathstreak is most affective on the small maps such as: Rust, Scrapyard and Karachi and also objective based game-modes, as there will be a lot of enemies gathered in one place, so this makes martyrdom a must on these sorts of maps, it also despatches spawn camping enemies of people watching your tactical insertion.
Final Stand
4 deaths
Get back up after being wounded.
Final Stand is the final deathstreak you will unlock at level 39. Once shot you will be drop into "Last Stand" stance. Big difference with the perk "Last Stand" is your health (50 instead of 3) and the ability to get back up after you have been shot. Plus, you will have your primary weapon equipped instead of your secondary. If you crawl to safety and stay out of the fire-fight for a long enough period of time they will stand up again and your free to start fighting again, so it won't count as a death. However Final Stand won't activate if your shot in the head. This is the most useful deathstreak due to the fact you can regain health and continue to fight.
Strategy:
Final stand is possibly the most useful of the deathstreaks, it's very useful if you have racked up a large killstreaks after you were on a 4 deathstreak, it will allow the player to get back up after getting "downed" and they can continue to gain on there killstreak. It's most efficient of large maps when you are hit by a sniper as they will lose sight of you when you go down.
This guide will help Explain what each killstreak is for, and how to best use them in a multiplayer match in Modern Warfare 2.
UAV (Unmanned Air Vehicle)
3 kills
Shows enemies on the minimap
This killstreak takes up you 3 killstreaks spot, however if using the Hardline perk it will only take 2 kills to achieve. It will show all enemies that aren't using "cold-blooded" perk as red dots on your radar located in the top left hand corner of your screen. The UAV will update the enemies position every 3 seconds and will last for 30 seconds. The player will receive 100XP for calling it in, but unlike Call of Duty 4 the UAV is physically flying in the air as a drone and can be shot down, which will reward the person shooting it down with 50XP. The UAV is most effective in team based game-modes as it's useful to find camping enemies trying to gain a large killstreak. If two team members call in a UAV it will refresh in a faster pace (1.5 seconds instead of 3), but that it is advised to wait and use your UAV once the other one flies away. That way you'll have 60 seconds of UAV, opposed to 30 second.
If both teams have a UAV/Counter UAV it doesn't matter which one you shoot at, as it will always be the opposing teams that will finish or be destroyed.
Strategy:
The UAV is most helpful on Search and Destroy as this game-type is all down to stealth and moving slowly and checking your corners, a UAV which shows the enemy position is great in these kind of situations. It's also more useful on larger maps such as: Derail, Wasteland and Afghan this make sure when planting the bomb you will be safe unless the players are using "Cold-Blooded". The UAV is not only useful for yourself, but also your teammates. Especially if they're using higher killstreaks such as a Stealth Bomber or Harrier Strike as it reveals the enemies position and makes these killstreaks that more effective.
Care Package
4 kills
Airdrop a random killstreak or ammo
Unlocked after getting 4 kills or 3 with "Hardline" you will be rewarded with a care package. This is small box dropped from a helicopter at a position marked by your flare. It can contain any type of killstreak ranging from the UAV to EMP (with the expection of a Tactical Nuke). The care-package will be shown green to friendly players but will glow red to the enemy, but both can capture it. The probability's of getting the certain killstreaks as follow:
14.78% - UAV
14.78% - Ammo
13.04% - Counter-UAV
10.43% - Sentry Gun
10.43% - Predator Missile
9.57% - Precision Airstrike
6.09% - Harrier Airstrike
6.09% - Attack Helicopter
4.35% - Pave Low
4.35% - Stealth Bomber
2.61% - Chopper Gunner
2.61% - AC-130
0.87% - EMP
The care package is great for new players that can't quite get a 11 killstreak and it gives them a flavour of what to expect when they improve as a players, however I would not use this killstreak on Free-for-All or 3rd person cage-match as it's basically a red-beacon showing were you are, which can result in a free kill and in some cases a free killstreak for your opponents.
Strategy:
The care package is great for lower level players (levels 1-30) as you will only have unlock a few killstreaks. The care package can turn a game around especially if you are rewarded with an AC-130 or Chopper Gunner, these can turn Team Deathmathes around in a matter of seconds. However, these killstreaks are very rare and you will normally receive an resupply, UAV or a Counter-UAV.
Counter-UAV
4 kills
Temporarily disables enemy radar
Counter UAV is unlocked after getting 4 kills in a row or 3 with "Hardline", this killstreak will jam the enemy radar for 30 seconds. The enemy radar will be filled with static, but similar to the UAV it is again a drone so it can be shot down. Shooting down an enemy drone will gain you 50XP for shooting it down. This killstreak is more efficient on Search and Destroy or Demolition were a bomb has to be planted, it make the players less reliant on there radar making them a lot slower to move positions making planting the bomb a little easier.
If both teams have a UAV/Counter UAV it doesn't matter which one you shoot at, as it will always be the opposing teams that will finish or be destroyed.
Strategy:
The Counter UAV similar to the UAV is great on Search and Destroy this is because it blocks out the enemies mini-map and radar this means they will be very cautious when advancing. So if you surprise them with a Shotgun or Machine Pistol you will more that likely get a quick kills. It can be useful on most objective based game such as Domination and Demolition too as you can capture the flag quickly or plant the bomb without the enemy realizing.
Sentry Gun
5 kills
Airdrop a placeable automated Sentry gun
The sentry gun will be unlocked after getting 5 kills in a row or 4 with "Hardline". The sentry gun is dropped through an airdrop similar to the care-package. The player will have to retrieve it from the package which can be tricky if the spawns have changed and you have been killed before capturing your own Sentry Gun airdrop.
The sentry gun is an unmanned weapon capable of automatically acquiring and defeating enemy targets. The Sentry Gun is most effective when placed in a bunker or next to a door, as any enemy trying to escape or enter the tunnel will be killed instantly. The Sentry Gun can easily be destroyed by someone running behind it and knifing it so it's advised that you plant a claymore behind it so it's defend from both angles. The number one weakness of the Sentry Gun is that is can't detect enemy's using "Cold-Blooded", so they can easily walk up to the turret and knife it giving themselves 100XP.
Strategy:
The Sentry Gun is a great killstreak for either guarding you back whilst sniping or watching an objective based game such as in Capture the Flag or Domination. The Sentry gun will stick around for a while and there is an added advantage of being able to move it. If one spot has more enemies than the current spot you can simply pick it up and move it. It's very good as guarding the tunnel on for example Wasteland and also general doorways of the maps on Modern Warfare 2 however it is suspect to being knifed.
Predator Missile
5 kills
Remote controlled missile
The Predator missile is unlocked after getting 5 kills in a row or 4 with Hardline. Basically the Predator missile allows the player to remotely control one Hellfire AGM (Air-to-Ground Missile) that is deployed via an UAV. He can now guide it towards enemy players and the missile will explode upon impact. You will get out a laptop when calling in your Predator missile so you can be killed whilst using the killsteak, which makes getting into a corner a good idea when calling it in. You will be able to see the enemies clearly as a red square will highlight them being in control of the missile. However, if they are using "Cold-Blooded" you won't be able to see them. You can speed up the missile by holding the "fire" button. This will send down the missile at almost double it's speed, but it will be much harder to control and steer.
Strategy:
The Predator missile is one of the most used killstreaks in Modern Warfare 2 and for good reason, when attached with "Danger Close" perk the blast radius of the hell-fire missile is increased to a massive amount, allowing you to get triple and quad kills. It's best on small to maps if you are aiming to get multiple kills. You can especially get easy kills when the players are running out of spawn. If used on large maps such as Derail it's a lot harder to get multiple kills as not many enemies will be running next to each other. This killstreak is normally used by players you will use the "Harrier Strike", so be on guard if some calls in their Predator missile and try to get your "Stinger" out as more often than not a Harrier will be in the sky in the next minute of so.
Precision Airstrike
6 kills
Call in a directional airstrike
The Precision Airstrike is unlocked after getting 6 kills in a row or 5 with "Hardline" perk equipped. The Precision Airstike allows the player to call in three F-15 fighter jets on a bombing run at the location of your choice. You can highlight your target location with a small "target" for both position and direction of the bombing run. Bombs dropped by Precision Airstrikes are effective at taking out groups of players, especially near spawn points. It's also useful on Search and Destroy when clearing the bombsight just before planting the bomb. In general, it's most useful on objective based games because you can easily retain an objective by calling in your airstrike, which will kill any enemies trying to capture your objective.
Strategy:
This killstreak isn't being used by many players any more due to it being over-shadowed by many of the new killstreaks, however it's still effective on large and small maps. It works well on large maps such as Wasteland too, because it will bomb a specific area. If you bomb the spawn of the enemy team then you can get easily kills. Rust or Scrapyard are both great examples of smaller maps on which the Precision Airstrike will rip the enemy a new one.
Harrier Strike
7 kills
Airstrike with a hovering Harrier
The killstreak is unlocked after getting 7 kills in a row or 6 with "Hardline". The Harrier Strike in theory calls in three harrier jets: two to bomb the target location, and the third hovers in place over the selected area. This third plane will attempt to kill enemy targets with its undermounted gun. In most cases the initial airstike is quite poor and the third Harrier can easily be shot down before even entering it's designated area. Once the Harrier is deployed (without being shot down), it can be devastating. Players with the "Cold-Blooded" perk will not be spotted and can run around the map regardless and easily take down the Harrier. The Harrier will fire missiles at any Helicopter that enters the battlefield, even the "Chopper Gunner". This makes a Harrier a firm favorite for most players. Whilst this killstreak is very effective, the sound it makes will most likely deafen most of the players making it easier for you to move round without being noticed.
Strategy:
The Harrier Strike is one of the most popular killstreaks in Modern Warfare 2. It's equipped with an airstrike before hand that can clear a small area before the Harrier enters the battlefield. However, the airstrike isn't the priority, it's the Harrier that hovers that does most damage. I have learned from experience not to place the harrier directly over the enemy spawn but put it so it's looking directly at it the spawn this way you will get more kills. The Killstreak is deadly on large maps such as: Wasteland and Derail as it can kill all enemies regardless of what part of the map they are at.
Attack Helicopter
7 kills
Call in a support helicopter
The killstreak is unlocked after getting 7 kills in a row or 6 with "Hardline" attached. The attack helicopter seems to have been over-shadowed by the "Harrier Strike" for many reasons; the Attack Helicopter's main weakness is its lack of flares. A single direct RPG shot will take the Helicopter out the sky, as well 2 AT-4's can be used, or even the Predator Missile. It's advantages are that it circles the whole map instead of one specific spot and it apparently fires "FMJ" rounds, making its penetration through walls more effective.
Strategy:
The Attack Helicopter is returned from Call of Duty 4 but this time it's been shoved to the corner by the more powerful killstreaks. This killstreaks is still extremely useful. On the larger and medium sized maps the Attack Helicopter will circle the map raining fire on the ground enemies. The Attack Helicopter is vulnerable to the Harrier's missile barrage, so this is why more players are going for the Harrier. But the Attack Helicopter is best suited on Free-for-All or Search and Destroy game where not my other players will have killstreaks in the air.
Emergency Airdrop
8 kills
Airdrop 4 random killstreaks or ammo
This killstreak is unlocked after getting 8 kills in a row or 7 kills with "Hard-line" perk equipped. The Emergency Airdrop will drop 4 care packages instead of just one. The Emergency Airdrop has a higher probability of it dropping a higher killstreak award than a normal Care Package, but it does take longer to reach the smoke designator and it often overshoots. The probability of each of the four crates follows:
Ammo: 12.0%
UAV: 12.0%
Counter-UAV: 16.0%
Sentry Gun: 16.0%
Predator Missile: 14.0%
Precision Airstrike: 10.0%
Harrier: 5.0%
Attack Helicopter: 5.0%
Pave Low: 3.0%
Stealth Bomber: 3.0%
Chopper Gunner: 2.0%
AC-130: 2.0%
Unlike the Care Package you cannot receive a "EMP" in your emergency airdrop. The Emergency Airdrop is useful when trying to get a high kill death ratio as you get a number of Helicopters of higher ranking killstreaks you K/D ratio will rise dramatically. But do watch out when using this killstreak because unlike the care-package the Emergency air drop tends to overshoot the flare. So be prepared to run a little to retrieve your rewards.
Strategy:
The Emergency Airdrop one of my favourite killsteaks on Modern Warfare 2, it's great on team based gamemodes such as: Team Deathmatch, 3rd person team-tactical and Ground War. This is because you can get 4 high ranging killstreaks. These can destroy games if you are given a Harrier Strike, Attack Helicopter, Pave-Low and Predator missile. These will easily rack up 20 kills between them making a Team Death match pretty much one sided after this point. On small maps however, this killstreak is pointless as more than likely you will be killed and the enemy will "vulture" your care packages. I would refrain from using this killstreak on small maps.
You will also be awarded massive points by calling in an Emergency Airdrop and letting your teammates pick them up.
Pave Low
9 kills
Heavy armored assault helicopter
The Pavelow is unlocked after getting 9 kills or 8 with "Hardline". The Pavlow is basically a heavily armed attack helicopter with two attached gun turrets. It's also harder to destroy as it does deploy flares. But as it is a lot slower and bigger it gives the enemy an easier target for their "Stinger/Javelin" missiles to lock on to. The Pavelow will sometimes take more than 1 missile to take down but more time out of 10 it will take 1 well directed missile to the rotary blades to take the helicopter down. When taken down you will be rewarded with 400XP or 4,000XP in Search and Destroy. If the Pave Low isn't shot down, it can cause havoc when circling a large map like Wasteland as there is little cover to hide from it.
Strategy:
The Pave-low is a great addition to a Harrier Strike if you are using these two killstreak you can rack up around 15-20 kills if they aren't shot down. The Pave-low will slowly circle the map spraying down fire on enemies this killstreak is great on Domination, Hardcore playlists and Headquarters. It works best on Large maps, this is because it's hard for enemies to find cover in time. If a player can get underneath the Pave Low it will only take one "Stinger" rocket to destroy the Pave-low.
Stealth Bomber
9 kills
Airstrike undetectable on enemy maps
The Stealth bomber is unlocked after getting 9 kills in a row or 8 kills with "Hardline" equipped. The Stealth Bomber is in fact a B-2 spirit bomber and it will carpet-bomb a very large area of the map. The bomber does not show up on enemy radar and is not announced to the opposing team, but it is easily heard as it's very loud. This will allow most players to get indoors in the smaller maps and stay there until it has passed. The stealth bomber seems to have an infinite amount of bombs so it can bomb most of the map, this makes it great for maps like: Wasteland, Afghan, Rust and Estate. It's effectiveness is increased if a UAV is in there air.
Strategy:
The Stealth Bomber is hard killstreak to use as you will normally only get around 2-3 kills with it. I suggest getting a teammate to call in a UAV beforehand as this will be advantageous being able to the pin-point the enemies before calling in the Stealth Bomber. If you haven't got a UAV, wait until some of the enemy players start shooting and make sure you call it across the map and not towards a building. You are more likely to get a kill with the Stealth Bomber if you don't call if directly on top of a building. This killstreak works wonders on small maps as more times than not the Stealth Bomber will drop bombs across the whole map, this means easy kills for you.
Chopper Gunner
11 kills
Be the gunner of a chopper
The Chopper gunners is unlocked after getting a killstreak of 11 or 10 with "Hardline". You are placed as the gunner into an Apache or Mi-28 helicopter gunship and you control the mounted machine gun. Hostile targets appear surrounded by red boxes on the screen (unless they are using Cold-Blooded.) You appear as a green dot so as you don't kill yourself and also give you the option to defend yourself whilst in the gunship. You can change how you view the enemies either through Thermal Optics (Glowing White) or just a normal view of the battlefield (Glowing Black). This allows you to spot the enemies using Cold Blooded a little bit better. The Chopper Gunner has 1 set of flares that are deployed when a guided missile is fired at it, once this has been deployed it can be shot down easily. The pilot of the Chopper Gunner will normally hover over the spawn of will go to the place where a lot of the enemies are. Sometimes if you are shooting at a target for a while the pilot will fly over the player exposing them making it easy for you to shoot them, the Chopper Gunner works best of open maps such as: Afghan, Wasteland and Highrise. It's near on useless on Skidrow because of all the buildings and cover.
Strategy:
The Chopper Gunner is one of the most deadly killstreaks in Modern Warfare 2 this is because it can destroy teams that are coming out of spawn it can easily get 15 kills, it's especially useful on Wasteland and Derail this because you will be able to find enemies easily due to the lack of cover when caught out in the open on these maps, The AI pilot will normally fly over the enemy spawn and will hover here for around a minute of two. The Chopper Gunner can be shot down quite easily though as once if first flare has been deployed it has not other protection and 1 "Stinger" missile will take it down. This killstreak isn't as good on small maps as many players will dart for cover and the the Chopper Gunner is unable to penetrate some metals making it a sitting target.
AC-130
11 kills
Be the gunner of an AC-130
The AC-130 in again unlocked after a 11 or 10 killstreak depending if you using "Hardline". The AC-130 will last 40 seconds once you have deployed it. You best find a good hiding spot as this again makes the player vulnerable from knifing and the enemy players. Once engaged the player will be placed in the gunner seat of the AC-130. Here they are in control of a 105mm cannon, 40mm and 25mm weapons. When using the AC-130, the whole map will be shown in black and white and enemies shown as red squares unless using "Cold-Blooded".You can cycle through Thermal Optics or the normal view of the battlefield by hitting the "switch weapon" button. If the player is killed while in control of the AC-130, they still get to finish using the AC-130 before respawning back on the ground. Other enemy killstreaks such as "Pave Lows and Harriers" can easily be taken down by the 40mm canon. As it takes 3 Stinger Missiles to take down, it's will stay in the air longer than its counterpart the "Chopper Gunner" (which takes only 2).
Strategy:
The AC-130 is possibly the best killstreak as far as "fun" goes, but this killstreak is great on small maps such as: Scrapyard, Karachi and Rust this is because the 105mm cannon destroys any enemies in it's path and on smaller maps enemies will be in large groups making getting multi-kills a breeze, an added advantages of the AC-130 is the amount of flares it has, it will take 2 Stinger missiles (in quick succession) to take an AC-130 out but not many teams will try this as no one will bother. The AC-130 works will on Large maps a well as it works as a great spawn camping device the 40mm cannon will normally dispatch any enemies trying to take you down making the AC-130 having the deserved title of "Death from Above".
The strategy when using the AC-130 is to start off with the 105mm and rain hell down onto the enemy, then switch to the 40mm to wipe out any stragglers that didn't die from the 105mm, then switch to the 25mm which is used to kill the last of the surviving enemies, rinse and repeat by the time you have finished this cycle the 105mm cannon will be back online.
EMP
15 kills
Temporarily disables enemy electronics.
The Electro Magnetic Pulse or EMP is unlocked after getting a 15 or 14 killstreaks depending on if you using "Hardline". The EMP disables all enemy electronics. Players will have no HUD, and all electronic scopes (Red Dot Sight, Holographic Sight, ACOG and the Thermal Scope) will be disabled. Their vision will also be slightly fuzzy, but some scopes such as the Red Dot on the TAR-21 and F2000 will not be affected by the EMP and will remain there Red Dot (no electronic dots). None of the enemy killstreaks during the time of 60 seconds, although the Emergency Airdrop is not affected and will drop it's care packages), so it's useful if your team is losing as you can gain kills whilst the enemy is confused. Most equipment will be affected, for example claymores will not set off if someone runs past them and C4 will not trigger if you pull the detonator. All current air support by the enemy will also be taken out the sky, so no more AC-130's and Helicopters. Just for clarification the EMP DOES NOT cancel out the Nuke.
Strategy:
The EMP is one of the most underused killstreaks in Modern Warfare 2, although for good reason... It will only knock out enemy electronics for 60 seconds which is pretty pathetic as you have worked hard for 15 kills without dying. But to achieve this killstreak you will need to camp until you unlock you Harrier Strike let this do it's business and once you have a Chopper Gunner it's easily sailing. But there are certain maps this is easier to get on, for example: Wasteland, Afghan, Sub-base, Derail and Estate there are plenty of camping spots to get this killstreak but I'll say again it's a poor 15 killstreak (although you do get a bad-ass emblem!).
One further tip, it's often used by Nuke Boosters in Free-for-All because it disables everyone's UAV and random air support. So you best hurry finding the boosters once an EMP is fired in FFA before they get that Nuke. Side note, it can also be a "lucky" Care Package, so check the scoreboard if someone is either up 4 kills or the full 15...
Tactical Nuke
25 kills
End the game with a bang.
This is the final killstreak you can achieve in Modern Warfare 2, you will need a 25 or 24 killstreak depending if you using "Hardline" or not. Once activated a 10 second countdown will appear in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and a siren will sound. Once the 10 seconds are up the whole battlefield will be engulfed by white and the nuke will explode, all killstreaks are destroyed all players are killed and the game automatically ends and the players team who deployed the Nuke will win. However this killstreak has gotten a bad name because of players "Nuke Boosting" in playlist like Free-for-All where one player will use a Tactical Insertion to spawn and the other player will kill him and once they get 25 kills they will release the Nuke. So the this killstreak has now been given a bad name, unfortunately for those getting Nukes the legit way.
Strategy:
The infamous "Nuke" many people have achieved this killstreak legit (me included), it's one of the best feeling of the games once you see that "25 kills streak Tactical Nuke" message pop onto your screen. To get this killstreak i would use the following killstreaks:
Harrier Strike
Chopper Gunner
Tactical Nuke
With these killstreak set-up the Nuke becomes less of a task to achieve, however you will end up camping extremely hard to get this killstreak. Remember to pick a spot away from the main fire-fights, maybe even pick a spot as the back of the map. The best way to get a Nuke is on a playlist such as: Headquarters, Domination, Sabotage and Demolition this is because these game types have long rounds/time-limits this makes getting the Nuke a little less stressful as you know that you have plenty of time to do it.
Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode has Killstreaks and Deathstreaks to help both the experienced players as well as the newcomers.
* Deathstreaks are meant for those that are not experienced at all, newcomers or players with plain bad luck. These deathstreaks are activated when you die a set amount of times without making a kill yourself.

Last Stand, but you will be able to use your primary weapon and fully recover after 10 seconds without being shot again.
Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode has Killstreaks and Deathstreaks to help both the experienced players as well as the newcomers.
* Killstreaks are meant to help the experienced users and give them something to aim for. You can choose a maxium of three different killstreaks in your loadout. When you reach a set amount of kills without dying you can use one of the following killstreaks.
* Kills obtained via a Killstreak Reward count towards your next killstreak UNLESS it's obtained through a care package.
UAV (3 KILLS)
Shows enemies on the minimap
Deploys a UAV to scan the map and reveal enemy locations. enemies with coldblooded perk will not be revealed.
Care Package (4 KILLS)
Airdrop a random killstreak or ammo
Deploys by throwing a red smoke grenade. The care package can be picked up by anyone once it hits the ground, including the enemy team.
Counter-UAV (4 KILLS)
Temporarily disables enemy radar
Blocks an enemy UAV
Sentry Gun (5 KILLS)
Airdrop a placeable Sentry gun
The Sentry Gun automatically fires at enemies in its line of sight, but it can be destroyed by enemy fire.

Fires a controllable missile via laptop at a designated target area, can be boosted by holding RT. However, the user is defenseless while controlling the missile.
Precision Air Strike (6 KILLS)
Call in a directional airstrike
Initiates an airstrike on a targeted area the user can now control the direction the airstrike comes from.
Harrier Strike (7 KILLS)
Airstrike witha hovering Harrier.
Two harriers will fly over to drop a small carpet of bombs. The third harrier will fly over and hover the area. It will kill with a board cannon (no bombs or missiles).
Attack Helicopter (7 KILLS)
Call in a support helicopter
Deploys a helicopter to attack enemy players.
Emergency Airdrop (8 KILLS)
Airdrop 4 random killstreaks or ammo
An airplane will drop 4 "care packages" with a higher chance of dropping better killstreaks. It's complete random though.
Pave Low (9 KILLS)
Heavy armored assault helicopter
Deploys a more heavily armored attack helicopter that can deply two anti-missile flares.
Stealth Bomber (9 KILLS)
Airstrike undetectable on enemy maps
A B2 bomber plane with a very large carpet of bombs.
Chopper Gunner (11 KILLS)
Be the gunner of a chopper

EMP (15 KILLS)
Temporarily disables enemy electronics.
Call in a Electromagnetic pulse bomb to disable all electronics. Crashing helicopters and airplanes, disabling sentry guns and red dot or holographic sights.
Tactical Nuke (25 KILLS)
End the game with a bang.
Call in a tactical nuke to end the game (and win it, even if you were losing).
This guide is to help you make better choices when you're switching up your custom classes in Modern Warfare 2. It will give you a complete understanding of what each perk, including it's pro variant, is capable of and how to best use them.
Commando
Increased Melee Distance
PRO: + No Falling Damage
Commando Pro is a perk that will increase the melee distance of your knife, Riot Shield and tactical knife. The pro perk allows you make you not take any damage from falling off buildings, walls etc. To get the Pro perk you will need to get 20 knife kills.
Strategy:
To get this perk up to Pro you can use this Knife Monkey class:
Sub Machine Gun (UMP/MP5k/..)
USP.45(Tactical Knife)
Marathon
Lightweight
Commando
With this class you will be unstoppable when Knifing people, I would still suggest using the class on a small map. Such as Rust, Scrapyard etc. I would only use this class on domination and Headquaters as there will be a lot on enemy's in one spot allowing you to gain multiple kills.
SitRep
Detects enemy explosives and tactical insertions.
PRO: + Make enemy footsteps louder
Sit-rep is a perk that shows enemy explosives and Tactical Insertion on your mini-map. On seeing a claymore it will glow red, you can see this through wall. The pro perk allows you to hear the enemy's footsteps even louder than before. You will need to destroy 120 pieces of enemy explosive i.e. C4, Claymores.
Strategy:
This perk takes absolute years to complete, you will need to destroy nearly 120 pieces of enemy equipment. This will be very hard to do seeing as how fewer people are using claymores and C4. However if you are to use Sit-Rep on maps like Afgan,Wasteland and Highrise when there are a lot of Sniper trusting the Claymores to watch their backs. At most you will get to destroy 3 pieces each game. The perk is one of the hardest to complete. So for that reason alone i would leave this perk till the end to try and master it.
Ninja
Invisible to heartbeat sensors.
PRO: + Your footsteps are silent
The perk Ninja makes you undetectable on enemy's Heartbeat sensors this is very useful for SnD matches, The pro perk makes you footsteps very quiet. So even players with Turtle Beach headsets would not be able to hear you. To get the pro perk you need to get 50(up close CQB kills).
Strategy:
This perk is very simple to achieve but will take a while to do. You will need to have a Shotgun as your secondary weapon, as you tend only to use a shotgun in CQB situations. I would suggest the AA-12. The maps i would use it on would be: Rust, Scrapyard and Quarry. Mainly because these maps are small and have plenty of buildings to unleash the AA-12.
Steady Aim
Increased hip-fire accuracy
PRO: + Hold your breath longer (snipers)
This perk allows you fire you gun from the hip with increased accuracy, this is very helpful in CQB situations. The pro perk allows you to be able to Hold your breath loneger when using a Sniper Scope/A thermal scope on the Assault Rifles,LMG etc. You will need to get 80 kills from the hip to get this perk to pro.
Strategy:
The strategy for this perk is quite simple, you wont be able to do it in an evenings play as it takes a long time to complete. You will only be able to complete this challenge when you are close to the enemy (Inside a building). I would suggest maps such a Favela. Highrise and Karachi as there are a lot of small buildings great for camping and waiting for enemy's to run past. I would suggest cold-blooded and a silencer so when you are camping you cannot be found as quickly.
Scrambler
Scrambles the enemy radar in a small radius
PRO: + Delays the explosion of enemy claymores (3sec)
Scrambler is a perk which allows you to scramble the enemys radar when you are close to them, The pro perk allows you to Delay the enemy Claymores, thus allowing you to avoid the explosion if you are fast enough. You will need 50 close range kills the same as Ninja Pro.
Strategy:
The strategy to get this perk is the same as Ninja you will need to pick a small map such as:Rust or Scrapyard and pick a small room and wait for the enemy's to pour in makes sure you have a shotgun of your choice(Maybe put a silencer on) wait till the enemy's run past and pick them off. You could easily master this perk in one evenings play.
Last-stand
Pull out your pistol before dying.
PRO: + Use equipment in last stand.
Last Stand one of the staple perks from Call of Duty 4, it allows you to survive a normal death, but the you will drop to the ground and pull out your pistol. The pro perk allows you to use your equipment on last stand too, for example, frag grenades and throwing knives.
Strategy:
Last Stand is very simple as you need to do is wait until and enemy shoot you and puts you into last stand. You will then be sat on the floor with your secondary weapon(this will only be a Machine Pistol/Handgun). So i would suggest a Medium sized map such as Karachi,Skidrow or even Rust. I would suggest using the M93 Raffica as it's basically a M16 in a pistol.
This guide is to help you make better choices when you're switching up your custom classes in Modern Warfare 2. It will give you a complete understanding of what each perk, including it's pro variant, is capable of and how to best use them.
Stopping Power
Increased Bullet Damage
PRO: + Extra damage vs. enemy vehicles
So Stopping Power is a perk that gives the weapon that using an extra damage boost, To get Stopping Pro you will need to get 250kills with the perk attached, Stopping Power Pro gives the bullets extra damage and also does extra bullet damage towards vehicles.
Strategy:
This perk is very easy to get it's very similiar to Bling and One Man Army it requires you to get 250kills with Stopping Power equipped. Stopping power is a very useful perk so it won't be hard to get 250 kills. I would recommend using any Gun but especially the Assault Rifles just because their easy to get kills with in general. The perk can be used on any maps (This perk is one of the easiest to master and get it to the Pro level.
Lightweight
Move Faster
PRO: + Quick aim after sprinting
So lightweight allows you to sprint faster around the maps. Lightweight Pro allows you from after Sprinting you can aim down the sights quicker. You will need to sprint 30miles to unlock Pro.
Strategy:
To get his perk from regular to Pro you will need to sprint 30 miles this will be very similar to the Marathon perk to achieve, i would again used The perks : Marathon, Lightweight and Commando this will allow you to Run around the map without stopping. You can kill two birds with one stone by using Marathon and Lightweight as you can complete two challenges in one. but you don't have to of course. I would suggest the maps Wasteland, Afghan and Underpass.
Hardline
Killstreaks require 1 less kill
PRO: + Deathstreaks require 1 less death
The Hard-line perks makes Killstreaks require 1 less kill, for example when trying to get a Harrier Strike it will take 6 kills as opposed to 7. To get the perk Hard-line to Pro you will need to get 40 killstreaks. For example you will need to get 40 UAV's but with Hard-line it will require 2 kills. Once reached Pro all your death streaks will require 1 less death.
Strategy:
The easiest way to get this perk up to Pro you will need to use the killstreaks UAV, Care Package and Predator Missile. The means you will only need to get 4 kills in a row to get this rewards. The easiest maps to get these on would be the medium sized maps such as: Karachi, Terminal and Favela. This is because there are plenty of places to camp and get killstreaks this perk is quite easy to achieve especially when using a M16 or SCAR-H.
Cold-Blooded
Undetectable by UAV, air support, sentries and thermal
PRO: + No red crosshair or name when targeted
So Cold-Blooded is a perk which makes you Undetectable by UAV, air support, Sentry Guns, and thermal. To get Cold-Blooded pro you will need to shoot down/destroy 40 enemy killstreaks for example Harriers and Attack Helicopters. The cold-blooded pro perk makes you not show up as a red cross-hair or your name shown when you are targeted.
Strategy:
This perk is also relatively easy to complete, i would suggest equipping a Stinger Missle and a RPD light-machine gun this is because the stingers comes as standard to missiles so you can destroy Pave lows and Attack Helicopter with ease. I would use the RPD as the preserve the stingers you can take down the UAV planes down with the RPD easily. So with cold-blooded equippted this will be even easier. I would also use Scavenger so you can pick up more Stinger Missiles and RPD rounds. This perk will work on any map really but works best on Medium to Large maps.
Danger Close
Increases explosive weapons damage.
PRO: Extra air support damage
Danger close is a perk which increases explosive weapons damage, this is useful when using Grenade Launchers, RPG's and AT4's. Danger Close pro enables you to increase the damage your air support will cauese. To get Danger Close pro you will need to get 100 kills with Launchers and rockets.
Strategy:
This perk again will be easy to get with practise as all you need to do is get kills with RPG's and Rifle propelled grenades my suggestion would be to use it on small maps such as: Rust, Scrapyard and Terminal. I would also say use the weapons on gamemodes such as Headquarters and Domination as a lot of players will be in the location of the objectives so east multi-kills.
This guide is to help you make better choices when you're switching up your custom classes in Modern Warfare 2. It will give you a complete understanding of what each perk, including it's pro variant, is capable of and how to best use them.
Marathon
Unlimited Sprint
PRO: + Climb obstacles faster.
Marathon is a perk which allows the player to use the sprint feature all the time without having to stop and walk, Marathon Pro is achieved when the player runs 26 miles with the Marathon perk attached. Once he has done this Marathon Pro allows him to climb over obstacles faster.
Strategy:
You will need to use this class: Marathon, Cold-Blooded and Ninja this makes you undetectable on Radar/Undetectable on Heartbeat sensors. Making the task in hand easier. So i would pick a map like Afgan or Wasteland and slap this class on and just run around the Map until you unlock Marathon Perk (TIP- Use a strong Assault Rifle to keep yourself protected under attack)
Sleight of Hand
Faster Reloading
PRO: + Faster Aim-Down-Sight
Sleight of Hand is a perk which allows you to reload the magazine of your weapon quicker. Sleight of Hand Pro allows you to Aim down your sights faster which is good for Sniper using an ACOG sight.
Strategy:
This perk is very simple to achieve as it only needs you to get 120 kills with the perk equipped to receive the Pro perk. So any map is good to get this challenge done on but i would suggest maps such as Karachi, Skidrow which are medium sized maps. As you will want to do the challenge with either an Assault Rifle or Sub Machine Gun.
Scavenger
Full resupply from dead bodies
PRO: + Extra Mags
This again is a very simple perk to archive pro on in a good evenings play, Scavenger allows the player to pick up dead players ammunition so it can be used in thier gun, to achieve Pro you must Scavenge around 100 pieces of ammunition once this is done Scavenger allows the player to respawn with extra ammo magazines a bit like bandoiler in COD 4.
Strategy:
I would suggest using this perk on any maps, but if you want to get it quickly i would suggest doing it on a small map such as Rust as there will be a lot of dead/dying comrades. All you need to do i run over the dead body and if you see a small blue package you will be able to Scavenge the Ammunition. This perk is simple to get to Pro but will take a while.
Bling
2 primary weapon attachments
PRO: + 2 Secondary weapon attachments
Again like the last two this perk is relatively easy to achieve all you will need to do is kill around 200 enemy's when you have two weapon attachments on your weapon. Once mastered Bling Pro lets you give your secondary weapon two attachments all well as your primary.
Strategy:
I would just use it on any map really it doesn't take too much skill all you need to do is kill 250 enemy's which will come over time, you can use this perk on any weapon so it can be achieved on any map.
One Man Army
Swap classes while alive
PRO: + Swap classes faster
This again is similar to the above three perks you have to just get 120kills with the One Man Army attached. The perk allows you to switch class when you have not died but in the middle of camping/running and gunning. The Pro perk just get the transaction between weapons a lot faster.
Strategy:
This is basically the same as the other perks but you will need to have it as you Perk 1 to get it done, all you need to do is once run out of ammo on your weapon simply press the start button and choose you class, then once completed you will have a gun filled with fresh ammo. This perk is handy on maps like Wasteland as after sniping and you want to rush the Underground so you can switch to your SMG class so you can efficeintly clear the bunker.
These are the perks you can use in the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer mode.
